In a couple of weeks, a friend of mine plans to start a blog. When he asked me for my advice about running a website, I only had one thing to say: Don’t kiss ass.

Of course, my friend argued with me and insisted that networking was a vital aspect of running a money generating blog. Accordingly to him, my website is a complete fluke. Not only that, but I’m not a member of blogads, which he aspires to be. (True-la-la) Apparently, the only way to join blogads to get an invite from someone you have kissed up to previously.

I’d like to prove my friend wrong. So if anyone has a spare invite to blogads they want to shoot me, feel free. The Internet should not be a popularity contest and websites should progress and generate income based completely on individual merit. Considering the fact that this site managed to get 600,000 page views last month, I’d say it’s more than deserving of a membership to blogads. If you feel the same way, send me an extra invite and rest assured that I will put it to good use. Meaning, I will shamelessly gloat in front of my friend and may even do the ‘I told you so’ dance.

I’m not sure how blogads really works, but if I find out who sent me the invite, I will be more than happy to plug your website on mine. However, it is not likely that we’ll ever actually exchange a private correspondence. Remember, my goal is to prove I can get an invite without kissing your ass.

Obviously, to send me an invite you’ll have to first be smart enough to figure out my email address. I apologize in advance for the extra hassle this will be for you. But like I said before, it’s for a good cause. My friend is a real egotistical jackass (YOU ARE) and we’d be knocking him down a few pegs TOGETHER. As far as I’m concerned, that’s more important to society than AIDS research.
